Attended star party between Wed, Jun 21 to Sun, Jun 25. All four nights were amazing. Viraj came along with me. Nilima, Alok came for two nights. All four nights were perfect. Could not have asked for clearer sky. It was very hot during afternoon but cooled down in the evening and nights. Camera could not fire up so could take pictures only from site but no star pictures.
Took about 6.30 hours to reach to site with one break and two small stops. Had carried subway sandwiches for the night. Stayed awake until 12:00 am then slept and got up at 3:45am but then sky started brightening up soon.
Next day, attended the swap meet. Purchased a 11 by 80 Orion binocular and tripod. Got a sweet deal of $200. Craig Souders father sold it to me. Binoculars are fantastic and mount is very smooth too. Binocs came with padded box. Went to Adin store to buy Ice. The talk on globular clusters got cancelled. Viraj met his friend Mr. Dholakia. Dholakia is into astrophotography. Has a site - Brahmand.me. His photos are breathtaking. In the night visited his RV and got my O3 filter verified. Even his son could not see veil nebula on his scope when he used my filter. Seems I was cheated.
On Friday went to Redbarn to buy ice. Nilima Alok arrived at about 8 PM. We all attended the door prices. Did not win any. Attened the talk by a husband and wife who are leaving at sea. Really good photos and talk.
Again great night, Slept at 3:30 am. Saw Venus and pleides in the morning. In the afternoon it was very very hot.
On Saturday visited Burnee falls and lake near by. Nilima, Alok and Viraj enjoyed it.
Saw many new objects which could never see from Dublin skies. M107, M9 in ophiucus.
