11/12/10 - Rented telescope

Rented telescope from Chabot observatory. It is huge Cassagrain Schmidt telescope. Saw Jupiter, Saturn and Venus in the morning. Didn't know Venus also shows phases like moon. Could see lines on Jupiter. Didn't see the red dot though.

Need to buy my own telescope, don't know which one. Seems even if I buy 8" reflector, it is going to be dispointment as this big 8" SCT also shows jupitor moons in pixels height and width.

The eyepieces those accompanied the telescope are great!
